What Cadence is

Cadence is a reading app. You paste or upload text, and Cadence can read it aloud. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Where your pages live

Documents you paste or upload are stored first in this browser on your device. Clearing site data on the device removes the local copy.

If you sign in, Cadence also saves your library (pages, folders, bookmarks, and listening progress) to your account so you can keep listening on another device. Sample pages are not uploaded.

Account

If you sign in, we keep the name, email, and sign-in provider you used (Google, X, or email) so Plus and your trial stay on that account.

Notifications

If you turn on reminders, this device stores a push subscription so Cadence can send a visible notification such as a continue-listening nudge. We do not send advertising. You can turn reminders off in Account.

Voice

Device voices run on your phone or computer and do not send text to us.

Premium voices send the passage being read to xAI to synthesize speech, then play the audio back to you. We do not sell that text.

Payments

Cadence Plus is billed by Stripe when payments are live. Stripe sees the card and billing details you enter. We store subscription status, plan, and renewal date on your account so we know whether Plus is on.

Cookies

Signed-in sessions use a secure cookie (or a preview token) so we can recognize you. We do not use advertising trackers.

Children

Cadence is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account for a child under 13.

Deletion

You can delete your account from Account. That removes your login, Plus, billing records, and synced pages on Cadence. Pages saved only on the device must be cleared there.

Contact

Privacy questions: open Support in Cadence, or write from the email on your account.
